Course Description

R 25: Card Sorting for Information Architecture

This course provides practical guidance in the use of card sorting and cluster analysis methods and tools to support the design of software and web information architecture. The course addresses issues surrounding the available methods and tools, and reviews actual projects in which these tools and methods were used. The course includes both lecture and hands-on exercises.

Carol Righi, Ph.D., is a consultant>. She has been a practitioner of designing for the User eXperience and user-centered design for more than 25 years. She is widely considered a UX thought leader, has published extensively, and has presented at numerous professional meetings worldwide. She is co-author of User-Centered Design Stories and User-Centered Design: An Integrated Approach.Carol has designed and tested user interfaces for the Web, and for desktop, kiosk, and mainframe applications. She has managed UCD teams and trained thousands of students.

 

 

 

 

Janice James

Meet: Janice

Janice James, M.A.,is a consultant with more than 22 years of experience in the field of designing for the User eXperience. Her goal has always been to work with others to help create user interfaces that users can and will enjoy using. Janice has provided User eXperience consulting and workshops to clients across multiple domains, including healthcare, financial, technology, and e-commerce. A small subset of clients include CNet, AOL/Netscape, Hewlett Packard, Intuit, BestBuy.com, eBay, AARP and McGraw-Hill. Her career also includes developing UX programs at three major corporations: Netscape Communications, AMR’s Sabre Travel Information Network and Electronic Forms Systems (EFS).
